Dec 8, 2009: 1.1 million more online shoppers in Germany in 2009
In 2009, the number of online shoppers in Germany has climbed by 1.1 million persons 32.5 million, marking a new all-time high. Among the shoppers are 17.5 million men and 15 million women. According to data by mail-order association BVH, Germans will have spent 13 percent more on the internet this year, amounting to 21.8 billion euro. A majority of these expenses (15.4 billion euro) are spent on tangible goods, with the remaining 6.4 billion euro being spent on e.g. downloads, hotel bookings, and ticket purchases.
