Jan 11, 2010: German consumer electronics market expected to outperform in 2010
According to a market forecast compiled for industry association BITKOM, the German market for consumer electronics products might outperform other Western European countries in the new year. The market value for 2010 is being estimated at 12.2 billion euro, thus remaining stable year-on-year. Meanwhile, sales in the EU are expected to decrease by 5 percent to 55 billion euro. Both the Olympics and the World Soccer Championships are considered important drivers for the sales of flat screen TVs (plus 5 to 6 per cent).
