June 2nd, 2009: Renovation expenses reach high in 2008
Expenses for renovations in private households climbed more than 5 percent year-on-year from April to September 2008, reaching € 18.6 billion. This marks a new high of the last few years and even surpassed the former high of the same period in 2006. While the total number of renovation projects decreased (18.3 million vs. 19.4 million in summer 2007), the total spendings per project rose. Especially works related to heating and climate were up 6 percent to € 3.9 billion - of which € 800 million were spent on solar power technology.
